‘Pachawawas – Children of the Earth’ is a UK charity which raises funds and recruits volunteers for the projects of ‘Traveller Not Tourist’, a volunteer organisation working with an orphanage in Arequipa, Peru.
Pachawawas transforms lives by providing funds and volunteers for projects which improve the quality of life of people living in poverty or difficult circumstances.
At the moment, they are working on a ‘Buy a Brick’ campaign to build a new orphanage for the children they support. They’ve raised an amazing £17,000 so far, but with a target of £75,000, there is plenty you can do to help. Find out how here.
We’ve recently met with the guys from Pachawawas, and are hoping to be working with them more closely to raise funds and awareness.
We’ll be starting by hosting a raffle at our upcoming Peruvian food pop-up at Kosmonaut, Manchester; in which we’ll be giving away some fab prizes including a spa weekend and a bumper hamper of Viva Peru goodies! All money raised from raffle tickets will be donated to Pachawawas.
